About

Sara M. Barton is the author of several popular cozy mystery series that feature amateur sleuths who typically reside in small towns and villages. ‘The crimes could take place in your neck of the woods. It could be your next-door neighbor who is found in a heap on the side of the road. It could be your dog that gets the first whiff of that cadaver and alerts you to its presence. Her latest cozy mystery series is the “Agatha & Smitty Murder Mystery” series. It’s a humorous romantic comedy in the tradition of Tommy and Tuppence and Nick and Nora.

Also new is her cozy spy mystery series in the tradition of Christie, Horowitz, and Thorogood. The “Mr. and Mrs. Jones Spy Story” series features two CIA operations officers coming out of retirement. Their journeys take them to the UK, France, and Switzerland to handle Russian intelligence penetration activities that put NATO at risk. While laced with humor and cozy in nature, these stories deal with real-life open-source espionage situations and the threat to allied efforts to help Ukraine.

She is also the author of historical espionage thrillers, including “Codename: Goldfinch”, an exciting historical spy thriller set in 1985, the Year of the Spy. It touches on the effort made by the CIA to empower the Polish dissidents and provide non-lethal aid to turn hearts and minds against the Soviet cause through the power of books and samizdat printing of books and newsletters.

Under the pen name of S. M. Barton, she’s written several espionage thrillers, including The Double-Cipher Files and The Secret Archive of Daria Morozova.
