Why did I choose Angus as a protagonist? I wanted a male character who was interesting and passionate about solving crime because he had once been falsely accused of murder. I also wanted him to be smart, funny, and determined to find what he was looking for, whether it’s great food or a killer. He may be in his fifties, but he’s still living his best life, and that includes his friend, Annie Colston.

Annie’s just been through a long, painful stint as a caregiver for her dad. Angus stood by her through the long, lonely months. Now, when it’s her turn to restart her life and get back out in the world, she’s dragging her feet. But Angus won’t stand for that. He pushes her to take that first step. And that’s when the trouble starts.
